Birthday time!!!

It's Patrick's 7th birthday on 19th Feb, definitely something worth celebrating as we spent the first 3 years of his life being told he would not be expected to live past 5! 
Thankfully his original diagnosis of a degenerative brain disorder was ruled out as he started to develop new skills and now, although he is still considered to have a life threatening condition, as long as he stays well and the epilepsy is kept under control there is no ticking time bomb for our precious little man.  If you would like to give a donation to help us purchase his dream bike, please use the online donate button.

This is Patrick trying out the Wheelchair Tandem cycle that we are trying to raise the funds for.  I think you'll agree that despite Patrick not being able to talk, his face just screams 'Please Mummy can we do that again?!'.  This is possibly the most excited I've ever seen him, the adrenalin rush, the sensory feedback and the freedom of moving at speeds unachievable in his wheelchair made him one happy boy.  We would love to be able to give him this experience on a regular basis.
